Hello,

I believe that Overwolf is causing game issues, has anyone else experienced this? Never winter was the first game I experienced the problem in. Upon launching the game, I got an error and the game failed to launch. I tried to run as administrator and got the same result. This was moments after installing Overwolf with Team Speak 3. ETA: The second I terminated Overwolf the game launched fine. In addition, since installing Overwolf, I have been having issues in DOD:S. Using netgraph 3 I appear to have little to no packet loss (sometimes it reads 1), and choke is always 0, with a 24-35 ping. However, at random times, my game freezes but I can still hear people talking in TS. I then get thrown back a few steps to where I was at previously, and I see dead bodies get thrown around on the ground. Which is common when one is having internet issues, but my internet is running fine and I did not experience any packet loss when I ran the diagnostic tool.

I like Overwolf though because I can see who is talking in TS. I don't know everyone's voices. Is there an alternative to Overwolf or a setting that is known to interfere with DOD:S and other games?

Thanks

Regardless of what people say about Overwolf, AVOID THE PROGRAM COMPLETELY. It makes my games obscenely buggy or not work at all

yeah I hear it's buggy and does pull a lot of resource for as small of a program as it is or should be

Never used it myself got enough issues with PC as it is lol

I've used Overwolf for it's TeamSpeak overlay for quite awhile now and haven't had much grief with it, aside from needing to restart it and TeamSpeak whenever you lose connection to TS (and/or reload the TeamSpeak plugins menu to be sure the "TeamSpeak 3 control plugin" is working)

I know that certain games don't support the overlay, so it may be a similar situation with that.

If I may ask:

What OS are you using?

What are the specs for your computer? The ones posted in your forum signature?

What other applications do you use at the same time as Overwolf?

FX 6300 8GB Ram, Windows 8.1 (about to upgrade to 10) and the STRIX 4GB VRAM R7 370. No other applications running besides windows, steam, TS3, and overwolf. I have stopped using Overwolf and have not had the same issues since ( warping with great ping and 0% loss and choke) as well as Neverwinter failing to launch.

Huh, maybe Overwolf is the one causing all my high ping issues on source games. I'll try turning it off the next time I play to see if it helps. But I doubt it'll change much.

EDIT*: Nope, doesn't change a thing.

Personally, I believe it really depends on the stability and overall requirements for the game. For games such as GTA IV which weren't really the best on PC, Overwolf usually doesn't like them. Small games like Minecraft I've usually never had any performance or computer issues. I have had another program that caused an issue similar to yours but with GTA IV back when I played it.
