Another Computer Crash...This time a Graphics Error

Okay so here it goes (again ><)

I start up any of my steam games and gets to the Powered by Source screen crashes then this pops up from ATI

"Could not load file or assembly 'CLI.Implementation, Version=2.0.270.25027,
Culture= Neuteral Public Key Token= 90ba9c70f84762e' or one of its dependiencies. The system file could not be specified"

Could you post a DXDIAG report? It's really easy, and goes a long way to pointing out obvious problems. Just goto the run menu, and execute 'DXDIAG'. In the window that pops up, just click the 'Save All Information' button at the bottom, save the text file somewhere accessible like your desktop, open it up, and copy the contents into a 'blockquote' in the thread.

you might want to unistall you ATI graphics drivers but before you do that get a new copy from http://www.ati.com ok that might fix your problem

what version of catalyst drivers do you have?

so basically, try reinstalling a older version of the drivers

hope it works out

Always worth doing a completely clean driver reinstall... especially on ATI boards.

I echo Hidden Question's suggestion:

I've had nothing but trouble with my ATI card and the catalyst drivers since I switched from using a geforce card a few months back. I'm still using catalyst 7.5 because HL2 wouldn't even run with the newer drivers. I'm not sure what their testing criteria is before they release drivers but they are quite unreliable. It's rather frustrating becaue I know I'm sacrificing some performance for stability using the older drivers, but it's the only workable option at this point.
