What the meaning behind your game name?

I just wanna hear peoples story or meaning (if there is any) behind why they came up with that name.

I start:
I got my name because my favorite color is black and I like dragons and put it in all my game names.

The 008 was recently add to my name due to another ego member with a similar name. I was about to put 007 to reference with James Bond but my favorite number was 8 and decide to put it 008 instead. :biggrin:

I'm a huge WoW Lore nerd and LOVE magic. I have all the books, 2 copies for most of them (one for reading and one for my bookcase). I was stuck on what my online alias should be, so I started re-reading all of my books. I found myself resonating with Medivh. I thought to myself "I will be a madman, I will conquer all my foes with magic, I will be the Guardian". So I changed the name a bit to Medvia on Xbox live, didn't really work out. So then I changed it to Merlin, cause Merlin is another powerful wizard. I have played every version of WoW (Expansions and Original) WC3 RoC / FT, and WC2. I first quit WoW before Black Temple first came out, since my guild basically quit. My IRL friend at the time got me back into it on Wrath. I needed a name to go by, so thought to myself "Why not try adding an H to the end of Medvia?" Got back into it, joined eGO because of my friend KKJZ and the Jail server on CS:S and it just happened to stick.

This turned out a lot longer then I thought it would lol. It somehow turned into backstory time with Medviah @_@

Name came about one day when I was trying to think of a new steam username and I had just gotten done with a game of SC2. I love the protoss and the concept of their archon unit. Don't remember where alchemist came about .3.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about Joint Ops. I really miss that game.

Anyway, there really isn't much meaning behind my name. The first time I wound up on an eGO server I was going by Jesus H. Christ, which I was promptly kicked for. I think I changed my name to Micky Mouse and then to Sexy Beast, neither for any particular reason.

Well, i play by a couple names so ill just gove the story behind them both

Mason54: Well mason's my name, and the 54 was the lowest number avaliable when i was making my Username on Combat Arms (rip)

Ace: I usually play by this name 99% of the time. I got it becuase at the time, i was thinking of a new name and got an Ace in PS2(Wiped out a squad of 6 solo) and someone said "Nice Ace there" and i liked how it sounded.

I originally tried to join eGO with one of my more "off the wall" names and was promptly denied. I wanted something that went along the lines of The *insert random word here* Specialist. I figured that I would remain "unknown" in eGO for the long time so I decided upon "The Unknown Specialist".

(Well, that and the fact that I was listening to "Unknown Pleasures" by Joy Division when I was signing up. @_@)

I had way to many names, but I am bored and going to post my 4 most memorable ones.

First- Legion of Halo [there was a halo2d game I was into mid 2000's and joined map making community in it. We were the LEETJUN. I also was like 13 at the time and thought it was cool.]

Second- v0r73x [or something when i played 1.6 for this 007// clan. We had a 1.6 goldeneye mod server that was popular and I was with that clan for a few years till it's official death. Mod sold for 200 dollars to someone.]

Third.- donuts69 [where I last worked we had a donut thing similar to a grocery store that has krispykremes, but there was a sign that said donuts 69c and I snapped a pic and use that name on insurgency.]

Lastly, currently.- indigozxmbie [favorite rap groups that have a gimmick joined together - Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers. So I made my name this.]

My name has no meaning. It was a random given name from xbox Helpless Glint 2something(a number) and when playing Naruto(or something else-I forgot, have this posted somewhere on the forums- long time ago) and when winning I got a *beeb(or something like that) you ain't helpless, so I kept this name. Good at deceiving opponents in game hahahaha and it sounds nice. My former name from the CS 1.6 was Riv@nol (rivanol- a antiseptic that stings and burns like hell when applied on the skin)
