I sure do love to play on EGO servers... But they seem to always be full, and usually not full of E's. :( That and ive been having a bit of network lag going on since we upgraded to the 32 person servers. When alot of people are in the same area my ping will hold steady but characters will skip all over. Its definatly not graphics related. I was going to blame Vista but im wondering if anyone else has been having the same thing?

It might be your internet connection. It is true that vista lowers fps but it doesn't affect your ping.

One of the wonderful aspects of this clan is that we treat our public players as equal with any of our clan mates unless there's misbehavior (and even then, our clan mates are held to a higher standard rather than a lower one). We don't kick a public player to make room for a clan mate. We wait our turn like everyone else.

My understanding is that we're very likely to add more servers in the future, so keep playing, we'll find you a slot. =)

Just remember: Auto join is your friend. :) Also, at this odd hour of the night, I'm seeing plenty of servers with open slots... Then again, who wants to stay up this late to play?

Try opening the console and typing "rate 35000" without the quotes. anything below that number usually results in some jumpy movements even though your ping is minimal.

Thanks Spec, ill give that a shot. I tried retooling my routers firmware and making sure my computer was communicating with it well but i had no results. Gamerail cant ping its gateways anymore.

I had this problem last week. No issues with my connection at all and most Pub servers worked fine. It turned out to be my rate setting. Connect to one of our servers and open your console, type "rate" (without the quotes) and hit enter. If it's below 20,000 then turn it up and see if that fixes your problems, it worked for me. Turn it up to like 30k and that should max it on most servers.

Krizpy,

It sounds like a similar problem I had with my system. Here is the link to the Tech Help forum post I made a few months ago. Hopefully it helps.

The information Lafinass posted at the bottom of the first page of the post worked for me. Hopefully it fixes your problem too.

Sometimes when I play, the game just freezes for a few seconds and then becomes very choppy. I think that this is a graphics related issue though since I have a cheap computer.

Lately, those numbers don't give me the best results on our servers. It's been 30/45 instead of 60/66. Cuts into my twitch reflex a bit, but at least it's smooth.
