Hello my dudes.

So I recently picked up an ASUS VG248 for fun just to see what 144hz is like and WOW... it's pretty sweet! Tons of fun to play with.

The reason why I purchased a 1080p 144hz monitor was to test drive the refresh rate and see if I wanted to buy the new ASUS ROG PG279Q (dat IPS, 144hz, 1440p panel though), or simply go for the sweet ultrawide Acer Predator XR34 monitor. I love the ultrawide aspect and 100hz overclockability with the Predator (along with the IPS 3440 x 1440 panel), but I also like the lesser expensive 2k model.

Which should I go for????

If only they made a 34" ultrawide 3440 x 1440 144hz IPS monitor with 1ms response and g-sync

o.O

EDIT: My specs:

Intel i7 4770k
2x NVidia GTX 970s in SLI
20GB DDR3 1600 memory
water cooler of some sort
hard drives
a good motherboard
counter strike

Would it be bad if I mix resolutions? My current set up has dual VG248s, but I'm considering swapping one then eventually both for the PG278Qs because while 1080p is nice, 4k is way to expensive, 1440p is a nice medium

I have decided to go with a PG279Q, once they address the backlight bleed and IPS glow issues.

Maybe in the meantime, I will get the XR34 just to experience curved architecture at 100hz and keep my VG248 for when I'd like to play CSGO.
