Youtubers/Twitch - Software/Hardware Recommendations?

So everyone wants to be a Youtuber, or a Twitch streamer. What are good software or hardware to use to become those things?

OBS is one piece of software that I'm learning/experimenting with currently. Have done a few test recordings, and they have an active forum with users giving advice on the best settings/configuations.

Webcam: Was using an old Logitech 501 cam for awhile for just Skype calls, and never intended on using it for facecam. For that, I bought a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 which offers a cleaner, more clear picture quality, and the built-in mic is working out quite well.

Interested in knowing what kind of software/hardware recommendations you all could give, especially where it comes to video editing software (still trying to figure out that one).

I would highly recommend that you use Sony Vegas Pro 12 or 13. Fantastic editing software and renders in very high quality and up to 4K. Many many many codecs and rendering templates for you to use and can even customise your own template to fit your needs

I have a YouTube myself and this is my best quality and highest viewed video on my channel:

Simply rendering at 1080p30fps, video at this length took me 10 minutes to render (your hardware will impact the time it takes to render of course).

But Sony Vegas is an all round perfect piece of Software for YouTubers.

I use Adobe Premiere, but if you do not want to pay for that there are a few other options. Like LBr said Sony Vegas. I heard some pretty good things about Pinnacle Studios.

As for recording I use a El Gato HD 60 Pro, records 1080p @ 60 FPS which is very nice

I heard good things about Sony Vegas Pro, but I'm seeing the prices as $300-400 or more. Anything in the $50-100 range as I'm just trying to test and figure some things out without costing an arm and a leg.

Sadly the less you pay, the less you get with these sorts of things.

Sony vegas pro was/is one of the top editing programs on the market along with AAE (Adobe After Effects.) You can use free software here and there to see if video editing is what you're into and what you'll like but you wont achieve as high of a quality in all types of forms as Sony Vegas Pro and AAE.

Every streamer these days use OBS to livestream and to record PC videos. You can use a capture card if you wish but most have a dedicated PC to handle all the streaming aspects as they game on their main rig. You'll want to invest in a good and high capacity SSD if you wish to get into this or else your rendering times will be significantly slow. Thats assuming you have a good CPU along with RAM to render higher quality videos at a fast rate.

Now I'm not telling you to torrent Sony Vegas Pro 12 off pirate bay....but what I am telling you to do is to torrent Sony Vegas Pro 12 off pirate bay.

Saves spending $300-400 on the programme.

4K is a waste since 4K is technically above 1080p its 1440p according to gaming monitors so I would assume its the same all around, youtube's max is 1920x1080. Now unless your doing twitch im pretty sure you can go above youtubes limit. I actually plan doing a youtube channel. I have sony vegas 13 which I got from the KHG key on youtube.
