[poll] Which Class Do You Believe Requires the Most Skill?

I know that it may be really hard to answer this question, but I have played as all the different classes before sometime during my gaming history, and I feel that some classes are more difficult than others.

For example, I find that it is difficult to be a truly effective spy.

However, some people could make the argument that the job of a medic is easy because you just have to heal a person and let him do all the killing.
Some people could say that a heavy requires no skill because you just let the bullets fly and mow down the enemies.

I'd like to hear what your opinions are. I know that all classes are different in a unique way, but is there one class that ultimately requires more skill than the others?

probably the spy because it is hard to get passed enemy lines and act like the other team

Spy, because it is not about firepower and you cannot hide behind your team.

You're on your own and you have to mix with the enemy without them spotting you.

Ack and Jehuty are two great spies, i dont know how many time they were just able to backstab 3 or 4 guys in a row and then running back to safety. When your a good spy, you can turn the tide by killing medics almost ubered and taking out those sentries nobody can get to. They can even spy cap a capture point when the defenders are looking away.

My choice is spy.

Demo. It's easy to get points as a demo since you can just hide in a respawn and use stickies on the point..Or just spam people from the other side of a hill..But, to be a good demo and be of use on offense is incredibly difficult. I only know a few people who can make all the jumps and have a knack for pegging people in the head with grenades.

I'd also have to agree with spy. It's the only class where your being solo is an advantage although spies that work for the team and not just points can be devestating to the enemy.

I found Scout to be the hardest class to play. Almost every offensive class has a "go-to" killing move; crits, backstabs, explosives, etc. I feel that to be a truly effective scout, you have to be able to kill basically any class and really master the art of circling. I, myself, struggle most with scout, because I feel that the playstyle may be too fast for my skills.

Just try playing offense OR defense on a dustbowl map as scout. Rarely will you contribute something to the team that a different class could not do better.

Being adequate at any class is easy. Being good with any class is difficult... Being FEARED as any class is nearly impossible. I've met some FANTASTIC snipers, spies, heavies, soldiers, and demos, but those players almost exclusively play that class. That being said, I still don't believe that any one class requires more skill than any other. Each class has it's own strengths and weaknesses that each player will more easily go for.

Definatly Scout, took me forever to be good enough to main him, and I must admit, although hes one of my best classes, he is definitly hard, and I end up having to switch classes to deal with sentries.

That insults me, as well as an half decent medic out there (Captain Mental). You obviously do not play medic much, I'm not saying it's the hardest class to be good at, because it isn't, but it is not a matter of just having someone else do the work for you. I have to dodge all of those bombs that demomen get past the person I'm healing, and it seems like a pyro always manages to get past the person I'm healing and go straight for me. Then, there's the idea that all you do as a medic is heal someone, far from it! I utilize my bonesaw almost as often as my medigun!

That being said, spy is probably the hardest class to play. Any unskilled player could accidentally bump into the spy, and then it's all over.

obviously heavy i mean geez i need to hold down 2 buttons >.<
lol but seriously spy takes 1337 skills and b00573r h4x

[/quote1207004929]Offensive demoman is much harder than a defensive demoman.

Anyone, and I mean anyone can play it, especially on CP maps, because all you need to do is place stickies and hide. An offensive demo who can shoot accurately is a very dangerous demo. and because he doesn't have an actual gun, I find it just as hard as a spy.

Spy, definitely. Although I have to admit, getting a kill with the spy is also the most satisfying in my opinion.

2) Sniper (playing the class the right way)

lol ya ill agree with that i hate it when it becomes pointless sniper duels over 2fort

Spy. For sure.

With most classes, a bad player can pull off a mediocre score. But a bad spy is just going to die.

A lot.

It's either Spy or Sniper.

However, I think it's easier to practice and become a better Spy then a better Sniper. It took me 2 years of UT before I could make a decent shot with any click-scan weapon. You can't just learn good aim, whereas you can easily learn smarter tactics for Spying.

IMO, an amazing Sniper is more valuable then an amazing Spy. On a good day, I can [link=http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s78/crappling/cp_dustbowl0010.jpg]almost single-handily defend the 3rd stage of Dustbowl[/link]. The only thing the Spy has on that is backstabbing medics charging an uber.
