[poll] Which Class Do You Believe Requires the Most Skill?

[quote1207009783=>:|]On a good day, I can [link=http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s78/crappling/cp_dustbowl0010.jpg]almost single-handily defend the 3rd stage of Dustbowl[/link]. The only thing the Spy has on that is backstabbing medics charging an uber.

Can't forget that a good spy can single-handedly take that last cap, even with a full contingent of defense up... And I can't remember too many times that the last cap of Warpath was taken without a spie's help...

So I'd have to definitely say spy... mostly because it's the only class I can't manage, and I don't think I'm too skillfull, hehe.

I think spy is the hardest to master. All the classes require different set of skills to master. If you put effort into it, it is not too difficult to become good/decent, but to master one all the classes are hard. Yes even an engineer class is hard to master. You can see from amount of people complaining engineer is useless on offense. It just shows they know engineer's strength, but don't truly understand the class. Some of the best scouts do really well defending on Dustbowl. Just my 2 cent. :)

I would say demo because you have to know how to toss pills you only got four. unless of course you are a sticky spammer its very dificult to master pill pop and sticky placement on defense

spy definently, after about 2 or 3 months of practicing it nearly everyday, i'm able to finally consistintly (sp?) get past enemy lines and get 4 or 5 backstabs + building destructions. its also takes getting used to the cloaking and acting like an enemy. i also hate to say it but probably cuz i'm still shaking off the noobiness, but backstabbing also takes getting used to, normally in an FPS u want to stay away from the enemies, but getting the coinfidence to run up behind and stabbing someone is impressive.

Demo, I play demo and use the pipe bomb launcher about 3X as much as the sticky, I think I have convinced many people that the demo pipes are supposed to be used as his main offensive weapons, not the stickies.

In response to Voltaire, I'm not saying that I personally believe that the medic requires no skill. I am just saying that there is a superficial view of the medic that some people hold. Personally, I have scored more points as medic in one life than in any other class, and medic is one of my favorite classes to play. As any player knows, medic is a core to every offense, and medics especially have to be alert because they cannot heal themselves and they are targets.

I agree with Voltaire in that part of being a good medic is using the bonesaw and medigun wisely. The bonesaw is very useful against spies, and also, medics have the job of watching the back of the offense. Sometimes I find myself screaming into the mic, "Turn around!"

I'm sorry that my previous statements apparently rendered me as an ignorant person when it comes to the medic. I appreciate the medic as a very useful class, and I did not mean for what I wrote to be misconstrued.

Voltaire, I just wanted to clear everything up. I didn't mean to insult you, and I do play as medic frequently.

Spy and Offensive Demo, as of late I have been trying to nail people with the 4 grenades when pushing up, and not every demo is good at taking out 2+ sgs with one uber.

Spy with out a doubt, really any class takes skill to be truly effective, just some less than other (Soldier/Demoman). Heavies are a bitch, but usually only if they have a medic with them, or if they are able to catch you off guard. Medic's bonesaw is a two hitter at the most on anyone except heavy, and it has a HUGE range. I almost voted Engie, cause you really have to know the map and where exactly to put everything so your spot becomes super hard to kill. Scout is pretty tough to kill people, but it is very easy to just run in so fast, crit a medic and get out, rinse and repeat. Everyone knows why its tough to be good at pyro, but someone who is a good pyro is one of the best teammates anyone could ever have...

I love this game.

The thing that bugs me about most snipers is that they'll target anything just for the kills. They'll target the stupid engy taunting on the opposite side rather than that heavy/medic waisting half his team and about to go uber. Plus, most snipers wont call anything - they'll just get jealous, try the shot, miss, and die.

I play as a scout sniper more than anything. I'm not going to go after any target, I'm going after targets of opportunity. Heavies, medics, soldiers, spies, opposite snipers. The classes that can cause my team the most harm. That scout that's coming at my base is going to catch hell from the 5 sentries inside my base so who cares about him.

Plus, what I don't kill I'm calling out to my team.

Demoman was the hardest for me to master. Difficulty of Spy depends on the other team when a Demoman is hard either way.

I vote none of the above. I think playing effectively has less to do with skill with a certain class than with battle tactics in general.

Things that take skill are sniper aim, spy avoiding walk through bumps engineer keeping sentries up against attacks/sappers etc.

Not to mention in a public game setting the quality of player tactics tend to be overall very low regardless of the individual skills of the players.

So far I haven't found a class that required more skill than another to play and do well at.

It is quite difficult to kill people as civilian.

No way, that umbrella from TFC was lethal!
