I guys

I was thinking of getting the Dell SP2208WFP 22 inch Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor to replace my 19 inch lcd I have had since 2005. Here is a link to it

tell my what you think and is it a good monitor. NOTE: I have a 8800gtx ok so dont worry about that
 
The specs and reviews look pretty good to me, your link didn't work so I looked it up manually. What kind of price are you looking at? I picked up my 22" Acer from Newegg for $209, I notice that this one is $300 from Dell.
 
I own a Dell 22in LCD... I do not know the model off hand, but I love it! I would defiantly recommend it. As far as Acer goes, I used to work in the retail environment and the Acer screens that we carried had a high chance of bad pixels. We had more returns for Acer than any other brand. Just my 2 cents.
 
also saitek, once u get the dell monitor (or whatever monitor u plan on gettin), is it possible for me 2 take your current monitor off your hands (of course whenever you get your newer monitor? reason i ask is cause i just gave 1 of my good friends their 1st computer & they were super excited about it, but problem is they dont have much desk space & i told her that we (being me & her) need to look into gettin her an lcd monitor. well it was pretty much luck running into your post here. so if your planning on parting ways w/ it, im pretty sure we would be happy to take it off your hands. anyways, hit me back whenever you read this.
 
I dont know since I might keep if for a month incase my new one dies ok. It is in great condition. It is the Samsung Sync MASTER 920nx
 
thats plenty fine, no biggie man. still i seriously doubt u have 2 worry bout a dell monitor goin out on u, especially 1 of their lcd monitors. my friend, who i have that machine to, she has a really old dell crt monitor that still works to this day. so i wouldnt bet on ne of their monitors goin out on ya.
 
If you're going for a TN-panel (sub $500), then I'd recommend that new Samsung midrange... It gets in the 70% range of the Adobe rgb gamut (good for TN), but mostly I'd get it for the tilt/pivot/height adjustable stand (something not often seen on budget monitors).
 
I think that is a great monitor. It has a good refresh rate for a monitor that big (59hz). The response time for that monitor is also exceptional for a monitor that big (2ms). I think you will be very happy with that monitor if you decide to get it. This is my quote "you get what you pay for"
 
Unless you want to spend around $600 for a S-IPS panel, you'll be stuck with a 6bit TN panel no matter what... They're cheap, and everybody keeps buying them -- I don't even think the new ultrasharps are S-IPS even anymore.

I've seen dozens of Dell's last 22" model, given away 'free with the system', and personally I thought it looked like garbage. The dithering was horrible, giving everything a cartoony paletted look. Honestly, though... I'm sure 95% of pc users would not even notice the difference anymore.

I picked up a 22 in wide screen samsung syncmaster 223sw from Sam's Club for 230 plus tax. It's a fantastic monitor and I have zero complaints. It's always advisable to view the LCD in person so you can really see what you are getting.
