Battlefield 4 Jets, why does no one fly them?

Just curious, of all the people that play, why does almost no one but me fly the jets? If its a lack of practice we can practice all the time in the event server lol.

I have been attempting to get better at jets, or at least get the unlocks for a better jet. I just don't think that I'm breaking even with a point contribution or making a difference when I get in them. More practice I suppose.

I can fly a chopper decently because it doesn't require constant movement in one direction from the mouse. To be good with a jet, I would think you would have to have some sort of controller or joystick to become adept at it.

I tried to fly with a jet, but I kept getting owned by others who could hold their turns (which you can't with a mouse)

I need practice and a controller I think. As Wizekracker said not many in the division like to play vehicle maps.

I fly at least once a round if I can get a jet, if not LAV need the medal for an assignment

Flying is alright but not really in a jet if you have a mouse like JuanDon said, you just cannot turn like players with controllers can and it makes dogfighting near impossible.

I can fly, but killing ground targets is where I struggle.
Also evading air contacts, I'm not very good at it. MissxCrowley can confirm that.
Presently I just do strafing runs on buildings, tanks, boats, and whatever else eats my fancy.
Maybe I'll get 1 or 2 kills

Something to hold your turns, you should try binding your "up" key to spacebar, no matter what angle your plane is turned at, you can use up to turn, or to loop, and all you have to worry about is speed management. I fly mouse and keyboard, using space to turn, and mouse for aiming adjustments.

When I can easily destroy the average jet pilot solo in a viper and hold my own with a good pilot I see no reason to.

I'd love to hop in the event server one evening you or anyone else is on Crowley and have a few dogfights.

I've literally only flown twice on PC BUT my wingman and I held the top spot on the 2v2 dog-fighting ladder on xbox 1 for 3-4 months before i quit playing. Was also top 10 on the 1v1 ladder for quite some time as well. Vehicle maps were the main thing we played on XB1. That being said, I understand the concept well and know all the maneuvers. I just haven't flown enough to really get the mechanics down. Would love to practice here n there!

I agree, Ill normally get a lock on with a heli when needed. Its just a pain in the butt to fly a jet with a mouse :(

Agreed.

That and pretty much by the time you get to the main part of the map and using KB/Mouse, you're shot down shortly after.

My experience with it at-least. :P

Lol yup, that about sums it up Fire :P Heck, I even try to be stealthy and fly low but with my skills, I normally run into a tree or something stupid and die lol

Repr is pretty much spot on. Bad jet pilots fly right into tow missiles, and they have to aim straight for you to hit you so that makes zunis/30mm easier to land. Good ones just fly literally straight above you and just do 20 dmg here, 20 dmg there until they do a final dive. I don't fly them because I think they're ridiculously overpowered.
There is only one thing that cannot die to anything else in the game if played right, and that's the jet. Stealth in particular, but the attack jet is similar. And yes even the MAA after the buffs will lose to a skilled attack jet.

That's just it, they're the workhorses of modern warfare, and with two good pilots a team will almost always win if they have good armor/infantry. I just feel they're extremely under-utilized, and its always fun double teaming an MAA camper lol.

In previous BF's all i did was fly, BF4, never really tried as much, prob is for me, when i get into a game anywhere, ppl hog the jets up, and don't let others take turns, all game, it's hard to get into one, When I did fly though, i used to just do keyboard/mouse and adjust the sensitivity level a lot, but also used a flight stick as well, made it much easier. I really want to get back into flying again, it's def. fun as hell.
