Oh, I wasn't taking this seriously. After all, the only company that makes serious announcements on April 1st is Google.

I'd prefer female characters to NOT be over the top sexy. As Purple said, I could definitely see maybe a spy or a sniper pulling that off; however, it just wouldn't make sense for an old german guy to be paired with a cute little nurse. I'd rather play as the granny-type nurse from elementary school, haha. There is just too much comic value instilled into each male character to go from humorous characters to sexy characters.
I doubt that female counterparts will ever be implemented. Just look at Valve's past with any game they have created. The only "main" female character is from half life 2 (atleast I'm fairly sure this is true, call me out if it isn't!) I know there was a rather large female community for TFC, for 1.6 and CSS, yet no female models were ever created. It just doesn't seem feasible to me.
