Yep. I feel bad when I request squad lead to fill my perk bar and then constantly spam objectives because of my spam spotting later haha.

Yeah ive had this happen many times. When a soldier or vehicle is near the point and try spotting it seems to spot the point first. You can reduce your icon sizes through the in game menus not sure if that would help. It is kinda funny sometimes your like over here no over there no back over here. Lol and funnier if a squad leader is in a vehicle bouncing around trying to spot.

You can separate them.

Since the majority of the orders that a Squad leader can command will bee attack/defend flags on a map, you can enable simple commands inside the menu settings. Still use the spot key (for me, it is D) and just hold it when you are looking at a point/position/flag, and use the circular menu to issue a command to your squad. Works a lot better and introduces separate keystrokes that will differentiate between spotting and issuing a command.

That marking flag while spotting enemies as squad leader is annoying but not a real problem when you keep in touch with your squad over VOIP/TS. The more serious problem is the not working communication menue on mousebutton for non WASD players. Since I play cursorblock I have the "q" button (com-button) assigned to a mousebutton. It worked perfectly on BF3 but BF4 is a codewreck. I ended up assigning the q-key to a mousebutton in the vendor-supplied mouse utility (corsair M65).
