The other day I had an extended discussion with some of the frequent and recurrent players on our Operation Locker server.

We all agreed that EdgeGamers should do something to limit the use of mortars and UCAVs without totally banning them.

OppaNappa proposed a sort of weapon limiter system that puts a limit on the number of times you can use a certain gadget, weapon, or vehicle. In this case it would be the UCAV and Mortar.

Would you agree to this sort of system? Why or Why not?

I'd like to hear your feedback on this, and if we were to implement such a system, what would be a fair number of kills/uses

Read EA's ROE's then come back and read this...............................

The problem is not the weapons , its how people prepare for the outside . Do you use your silencer to go undetected on the map? Do you have the defense perk going to take a mortor hit ? Is your team working with you or all they all inside laying on the ground with bipod lmgs. Even one good squad working together can overcome a small outside defense . You can see mortors coming a mile away if you are looking, they have a arch shaped smoke trail. . Ucavs you can see and hear.

As you know I'm a huge UCAV fan :D but ignore that ... The use of mortars is a great tool for helping your team advance or warding off a huge outside blitz. They are annoying but highly effective.

There's ways to beat em' just have to give in sometimes and mav or do your best to dodge em'.. I hate gettin drilled by a UCAV but I'm sure the guy on the other end of it got a kick out of it and that's just fine by me :)

Server bounces around the top three in the world and has for some time. So you want to change it? Are you trying for the top 100? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Looking for ways to improve our assets is appreciated, however, tipton has an important point.

^ it's this very statement of why it is difficult to convince leadership to do anything regarding changing anything on any server.

Example: A lot of us have been *begging* to have rush removed from the 24/7 metro server as that mode causes the server to completely empty out. Yet, here we are, months later, and the mode is still on there, and its still difficult to keep that server populated when that mode comes up.

I feel like leadership should be more receptive to ideas, however, I'm not saying that any idea needs to happen on any given server, but there are instances were things pretty much need to change if you want us to continue to help populate servers.

We sat on metro today for 4 hours and it was like pulling teeth to get that server populated.

I understand that people have to work and such, but since *all* of our servers are international, while america was during working hours, some of our European friends were winding down for the day, thus were probably popping online to play some battlefield. Meaning, just because we are at work, doesn't mean the entire world is, so those servers should be a lot easier to populate than they are currently.

Removing Rush from Metro may be a valid request, and I'd be interested to hear from leadership about that, but what tipton is saying is it would be foolish to mess with Lockers at this point. I agree.

Rush on metro doesn't ALWAYS clear it out, but it is a required taste ofcourse. I wouldn't mind having that removed tbh lol. As far as op lockers, yea ucavs and mortars are a pain in the ass but its pretty much an expected outcome of the game if your team is going to push outside.

I can tell you, especially of Artimus, that leadership is very open and approachable. You may not get what you want, I've been turned down many times, but they listen to you. Try and have not just the idea, but as much facts and data to back it up. And be specific on names, when more people were in agreement with you.

And secondly, don't give up. Give it a little time and bring it up again, while you gather more data or adjust your idea to get a better outcome.

As far as lockers, I played it a little, and seems good the way it is. Wish the map was a little larger outside.

I have used the mortar, and died by it. It's not that big of a deal.

I hate those little robots. I would restrict those. Come kill me yourself. Not like you have tanks or anything to fix on that map.

We have removed Rush from metro even though it did fill and run more than most thought. As for Lockers we cannot really limit much as per EAs rules. All weapons are going to be allowed. Now we have our server rules to not mortar into or from uncaps which will remain and is allowed by EA to run our server free from those trying to cause disruption. Leadership is approachable and listens to suggestions of members. Sometimes though as others said not everyone is going to get what they ask for. As for ideas and suggestions try to come up with a plan on how changing it will work. Also dont forget about a plan in case it does not work. These are the decisions made everyday by leadership on how to populate and keep our servers in the top rankings.

Thank you. :)

And I have experienced this on lockers as well, I don't feel like the UCAVs or Mortars break that map. I am able to rush the outside with or without them anyway. Even if the team isn't cooperating, its about motivation to push forward. It *IS* very possible to do, though it may be disheartening when there are LMG Bipods holding you back. Just keep at it, eventually you'll push through.

I would like to contribute more than I already do, but I feel limited. I don't know if its just me, but sometimes I feel like some advisors are more or less approachable than others, same with DLs. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy each and every single person in BF division.. but there are times when I feel like I need to keep my ideas to myself. I dunno.. perhaps its just in my head. *shrug*

Tipton for pres. People seem to enjoy the chaos of the map. Not me, but. I live in PopMaps.

I have found that no matter what gadgets or devices, guns or techniques that people are using, mortars and ucavs included, there is always an answer to defeat them. Whether it be mavs, or using a silencer to not pop out on the mortar target map, or just going inside for a push, there is always an answer. I don't think anything should be done to change the lockers at all. Jtipton makes an excellent point as well. It isn't broken, just annoying sometimes...

just my 2 cents - Metro Mixed has been much easier to fill and remain full since the removal of Rush - Thank you for the change
I have had a many regular pubs confide that they are so happy ...

I have to agree... The game was developed with particular limiters in place already, I.E. For the UCAV only one spawn per 90 seconds is allowed. Same goes for mortars and other weapons. We should not impose additional subjective restrictions. Dice has nerfed more than what has been necessary to balance the game well. My opinion is that we shouldn't add our own custom nerfs to further modify the game as it may have unintended effects in promoting the behaviors those weapons were designed to control for.
