Fallout 4: Vault-Tec Workshop
I refuse to review this.
This, to me, summarizes what?s wrong with Fallout 4: You?re forced into situations that don?t make any sense because reasons. I don?t know if the quest being added to this DLC somehow is supposed to convince me to play it, but the quest is what really got me. In Fallout tradition, you get a message on the radio. You go to the location and slaughter raiders that are there because...they?re there, you go into the Vault and kill some ghouls (including a legendary one) and talk to the Overseer of the Vault where she offers you a job to run the experiments.
This is where I vomited profusely.
The backstory of the Sole Survivor is that Vault-Tec tricked their family into getting frozen and can be blamed for the death of their wife/husband. They have no reason to WANT to be put in the position of those who, in their own words, ?ruined their life.? If you express that to the Overseer, they simply remark to not do things that seem morally wrong. Ironic, considering FO4 railroads you into doing quests and killing people in nearly every quest. There?s no peaceful solution to be found in the game.
If Bethesda wanted to port Fallout Shelter to the FO4 engine, that?s fine. Don?t make a nonsensical quest around a DLC for a mechanic that no one uses.
