DODs fans may be interested in this officially supported Insurgency mod being developed by the community. Looks like they are giving a nod to DODs.

Now if BF5 gets released as the successor to BF1942 on frostbite 3 engine WWII games may surge again.

But in the end we all know that DODs will most likely outlast them all.
 
They actually based this off of DoD 1.3. I have the mod installed just never bothered to check it out.
 
This mod looks great, but I never could pass through the training in Insurgency due to the absence of the crosshair but I might try this mod out.
 
Dang, that's a great looking mod. I may have to pick up Insurgency and try this out.

I have the new Insurgency, but sadly it's just like CS:GO. My PC can't handle it too well. :/

Just wanted to say thanks for getting us all to look into this. I finally got it to work yesterday, and I played it until an hour past bedtime. Its awesome! Yes, there is no crosshair, but the game play is very realistic so far, and bastogne at night is creepy AF.

FYI, if you have Insurgency, you need to go to the community workshop, type insurgency. then look for day of infamy. You need to subscribe to the game, and to the three maps separately, just below that. You also need to right click on Insurgency in your game library, go to the 'betas' tab, and from the drop down, do the beta testing option. Not the pre-release one. Then exit the game and relaunch.

Heres where I ran into trouble, and maybe if anyone has the same issue, you will now know how to easily get past it. When you re-launch the game, it will download the updates to add the maps and mod to your game library. Mine wasnt, and it was because I had an update schedule of 12am to 2pm, so it wasnt letting it download and I was getting the same error, for an hour. Just had to set the schedule from 12am to 11pm, and it worked fine after that

I dont know if you all will like it, but so far I am a big fan.

Pretty sure now you don't need to do the beta. They changed it so that its now officially supported. I currently have my beta disabled and the game works fine.

Q-Tip sorry I didn't see this post earlier! Was very stoked to see you all playing! Wanted to jump in but didn't know if you all were just checking it out. And yes my favorite map as well is doi_bastogne_night. The new landfall map is pretty darm good as well. Attacking/holding those control points is done is such a great way as to force teamwork!

I am loving just about everything about this game so far. It has a great atmosphere and quality to it and the game play is intense.

Would love to see us all do a realism one Saturday night in this mod. Further down the road I hope we get eGO servers like our DoDs ones.

And yes thankfully the beta branch is no longer needed. Next time you are on send me an invite!
 
For the record, was listening to a couple of you last night, I am trying to get a DS setup, so you don't have to rely on the EU servers :P

It's in Atlanta.
