I'm expecting that to be an early beta stage. I'm sure everyone here remembers how long it too for BF4 to go from it's initial release, to its final form. Realistically, folks who participate in CTE or are willing to pre-order the game should have access to a beta form of the game later this year. Similar to the Shanghai only beta we had for BF4.

Either way, it'll be nice to get a refresh of the game! Hopefully some new creative weapons are in the works!

I want a combo of BF4 and BF3. Take away leveloution, and just make literally everything destructible with appropriate damages. Also some support for VR would be amazing. And get rid of troll instruments (UCAV, mortar, AA mines, and that stupid repair robot thing).

Battlefield 2016 Updates - 10 February 2016
EA_DICE, DICE devs, and other known sources for Battlefield information have remained dormant for the last couple weeks (which is odd considering they are usually active).

Battlefield News - 24 February 2016

DICE recently posted several new positions in both it's Stockholm and LA branches.

Stockholm: Senior Concept Artist - 'We are seeking an experienced Senior Concept Artist who is eager to push visual quality to the next level on an unannounced AAA title.

LA: Level Designer - Multiplayer - Does not entail what they are looking for, but lists responsibilities and requirements

This can pertain to BF 2016 as is remains unannounced for now. DICE has always excelled in the visual department of their AAA title releases (see Star Wars Battlefront [2015]) and has never failed to stun players with amazing visuals and graphics.
