Tech Help New server build, looking for feedback!

I've had a colocated server for a couple of years now that I've been renting about a quarter of to my employer. They now are wanting to buy the server so they can use the whole thing and not have to move their VM. That means it's time for me to build a new one!

I'm having some trouble deciding on the setup, maybe you guys could give me some input. Here's the list of parts I'm currently looking at (and no, I'm not planning on getting it all from NewEgg, it's just an easy place to make a list).

I'm having trouble deciding if redundant PSUs are worth the ~$400 premium, or if I should just go with a cheaper case and one good PSU. I'm also having trouble deciding if I want an M.2 for the OS and caching plus an SSD for the VMs that need faster storage or if I'd be better off with just an SSD (Maybe a SATA version? Not sure).

My current coloc is an e3-1230v2 with 32GB RAM, 240gb Intel SATA SSD (can't recall model), and 2x2TB WD Blues. I definitely want my new one to be an upgrade in every aspect.

Any suggestions/comments?

Since you are going to be liable for your employers data I won't cheapout on power supply. I would be pretty ticked off if I found my data was lost due to my provider not taking the proper precautions to safeguard my data. Also what are using for your server for raid? Hardware or software? I'm planning to build my own server at home. Current plan is to use freeNas

The new server is for my own personal use, they're buying my old server (which does have redundant power supplies).
For RAID, I'd be using the onboard C236 with the two 4TB drives in RAID-1.

At home, I use a FreeNAS server and LOVE it. In my FreeNAS box, I'm using an LSI 9211-8i with the HBA/IT firmware and RAID-Z2. With ZFS, it's typically better to use an HBA instead of a RAID controller.

If it for your own use then use regular one I guess, it all depends on how valuable your data is
