Steam status??

I was curious... does STEAM update your status based on what you do with your computer.. or do you MANUALLY have to update your status in STEAM. By STATUS I mean the "AWAY" "SNOOZE" "ONLINE" etc.... I know some IM clients will automatically move a user to AWAY or BUSY if the screen saver kicks on or after a timeout period.

Sometime I leave my PC on... and I'm not at home.... so I don't know how STEAM would show me in those times. I'd hate someone to PM me and ask me something or to go to a server and think I'm ignoring them. I'll gladly help if I'm available.

Also, is there a way to take Steam "on the go." There's no mobile client for steam yet is there?? Or maybe one in the works? Would be neat to have the friend list on your mobile phone and be able to chat or whatever with other EGO's =)

Yeah, but more often than not I don't remember to do that. Or sometimes I leave my computer and don't realize I'm leaving it for a while because I didn't know that I was going to get that phone call or that my pizza rolls were about done, or something.

Snooze is automatic, when you're idle, say 10+ minutes. Away is set manually. So, you wouldn't appear Online, you'd be snoozing while at work.
