Cant wait to see unlockable weapons, about the new maps that's not a huge upgrade for me but its better than nothing =P

And only 11 days away (says its after april 15 so 11-20 days)

yes!!! thats the day after my big reports due... i can sit back and waste myself in a little TF2!

That's an awful late Spring Break Noobkiller... I'm about 3 weeks from being done with the entire semester

unlockable weapons? New weapons? Or old weapons not being able to be used with out further accomplishments?

a bit of both

Unlockables in a multiplayer-only game... most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, besides admittedly releasing half of a game (though can't complain having half, a few months early, hehe). I can't imagine how many noobies are going to be turned off from the game, just because all of us 'established' players having much more capability than they do off the bat. I may be a bit old-fashioned, but I just feel Valve should try to keep it an even playing field for all, whether noob or pro... besides, what makes TF2 so fun is it's simplicity (what they failed to remember the first time they made the game, and had to start from scratch because of it).

Completely agree, couldn't have said it better myself.

Oooh, That seems scary. First they take my Soldiers rockets away... not maybe take away some of his guns. I need to hunt down these Valve people and kick them in the shins.

but by that same token, it gives the established players something to work for, and a reason to keep playing.

It also will cause noobs to try and get better, so they can compete.

I heard it was the 20th, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Valve being Valve, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw unlockable weapons until July.

Hey this is Valve we're talking about, and they didn't mention the year in the article, so no matter what happens, they will be on time, if not early with the release.
-Groo (Hoping to see HL2:EP3 sometime while I still have enough dexterity to play video games =)

I'l point out that I said " post April 15 " so that's after April 15 and we all know how thes things go they say one date then it will be about 2 months late! but im looking forward to see what they release for the spy later on .

And what if the said unlocks don't overpower the "established players", meaning that new players can still be worthwhile?

This is how it's gone in Call of Duty 4 and it's the accepted norm there. I think it's kind of a cool idea. I don't know how they would implement it on TF2 but it could be a cool thing.

Gonna have to agree with nocturne. Unless they're really careful with the unlocks, it could ruin the game- particularly for new players.

Beyond the discrepancy between players, I worry about the same thing happening that happened to me in the Battlefield games. I got one class entirely unlocked and then felt bound to the class. Why would I play one class if it isn't as advanced as another?
