So after seeing speculation that one of the new medic achievements requires 10 million healing, I wondered to myself, how much healing have I done? Now your steam stats only show your bests and hlstats only tracks your last 28 days but if you're willing to do a little digging and can read some old style coding you can check your totals

if you go into your steam file and go through the folders

Steam\steamapps\project113\team fortress 2\tf where your user name is in place of mine you'll find a file called

tf2_playerstats.dmx

which you can open with notepad and find all your stats since you started playing

after each list of stats there is a line that will show you the class the stats were based on.

I dunno I thought it was neat and wanted to share, sorry if this has been mentioned recently

I never saw this before, nice find.

Edit:Holy cow, I've only healed 538k hp, this is gonna take forever...

10 million healing? I never heard that, and I've tried to follow every bit of info about the new content. I only have 888k healed, and I'm primarily a Medic. That's gonna take a long time to get if it's true.

BTW, nice find. I've never read about that before. :)

1940 headshots in the month and half I've had my new rig. Great find, though I try to keep from getting hung up on stats, it's nice to see just what you've done once in a while.

oh i tried it out and cant figure how the thing works... to many stats... makes ma head hurt...

Mine is all wrong. It says I've healed 520k as a demoman. lol and I've only delt 36k as a demoman. That is WAY WAY WAY off.

thats your medic stats.

the list above the name is lifetime for the class underneath, and the list below the name is the round stats.

909k healing. thats 1/10 there.

wow.

"iHealthPointsHealed" "int" "3,412,945"

not even 1/2 way yet

Great find by the way!

Pockets, to answer your question I found this at http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Customizing#tf.5Ctf2_playerstats.dmx:

tf\tf2_playerstats.dmx

Stats are stored both online on the Steam Community server (where everyone can see them via your personal Steam ID page), as well as locally on your machine in this text file, so your own stats can be displayed in game for you, without downloading the list from the Steam server every time. This file is readable plain text, and so it can be edited, and your modified stats will be displayed to you in game. However the text file is actually independent from the data that resides online on Steam, so you can not actually tamper with these stats. The only way to delete both on- and offline stats is the 'reset stats' button in game, which will both delete the local file as well as contact the online server to delete the stats file as well. Apart from file tampering, because the on- and offline data is actually separate, there may be syncing problems, i.e. you may get different stats displayed locally than what is actually saved on the Steam Community server.

good find but i cant help think that my stats were somehow screwed up. im getting weird numbers for everything. o well i gave up on stats awhile ago.
