i was wondering peoples intake on the computer im going to build. A little spendy, but i am including a new monitor, and new keyboard and mouse, so those bump it up a bunch. But here is the list

Make sure to buy some thermal paste. It is like and extra 2-3 dollars. OCZ has some nice stuff, unless that CPU cooler comes with some good stuff.

also if u wanna save some $$, check newegg.com cause they have a core 2 duo 6750 (which is what im gonna get) & its like 179.99 (i believe). just thought id let ya know bout that.

yeah thanks you two for the suggestions

I know about the thermal paste, and i just didnt put it up there cause its not part of the actual pc, and i feel like going with the quad core because the 780i mobo is the best compatible with the Quad Core (or so ive heard from a friend) and then i wont have to update my CPU for a while because of it becoming obsolete

get the e8400!!!!!!!
Its $209 and uses intels 45nm architecture and has a stock clock of 3.0 ghz and an L2 cache of 6 mb. People have reportedly overclocked this baby to 4.0 ghz so you definitely dont want to pass up this bang for the buck. So pretty much its cooler (literally) faster and stronger!

2.4 ghz quad CORE!!

and OCed it to 3.0 GHZ that saves you about 800 bucks!!

ahh but you go with my dual core and its oc'd to 4.0 ghz and 6mb of l2 cache and smaller architecture. overall get the e8400

Ok unless you plan on using SLI, ditch that board and get a X38 or P35 board. If you know how to overclock, get a P5K-E/WIFI-AP motherboard, and a E8400 (45nm cpu) and a tuniq tower (heatsink) and buy MX-2 thermal paste, and overclock it to 4GHz baby (my friend just did).

Also change your power supply to a Pc Power and cooling 610

Second spending 200 dollars on a case, is dumb, no need to spend that much money, get a Cooler master 690. Vista, is prety much stable and you will have no problems.
