Status: Complete
Setting: Alternate Universe 1980's Cold War East Germany
Summary: An alien race known as the BETA has invaded Earth and now threatens to wipe out humanity. Story is based around a squadron of TSF (Tactical Surface Fighter) pilots and their struggles as they are forced to fight for both their lives and freedom. The BETA are not their only enemy, the Stasi, a very tyrannical group who seek out 'traitors', dissidents, and 'unloyal' Germans. Caught in between a war for the survival of humanity and the power grab of the Stasi, the 666th TSF Squadron must overcome all odds to survive.
Reaction: At first I thought this was going to be another alien apocalypse mecha anime, boy was I wrong. Around the 4th and 5th Episodes things take a turn for the crazy. While not spoiling too much, there are some jaw dropping moments in this while still retaining the Mecha feeling of this anime.
Rating: 8.5/10 - There still are some missing plot elements, but not all the episodes have aired in the US so I am still waiting for the season to come to a close. I would highly recommend this anime to anyone who enjoys action, violence, and of course giant mechs fighting aliens.
WARNING: This anime is not suited for those under the age of 16 as there are some very adult themes in this anime, mostly violence and some suggested sexual themes. This is from a basis of my own personal opinion, not an official rating.
