Push to Talk
There are limitations to Push to Talk on the web app, you must have the window focused in order to use Push To Talk on the web browser - download the desktop application to resolve this.
Inside user settings you'll need to change your default voice input to push to talk, you can do that in the bottom left by selecting the "Gear cog" next to your name
Once this screen is open, navigate to voice, you can then adjust your input mode and delay (having too low of a delay can cause your sentences to be cut off)

Notifications
There's two sets of notification options, one for the server and one for your entire profile.
To open the settings for the server, select the "Hamburger" menu in the top left and select "notification settings"
You'll then have a series of options.
You an disable notifications all together here by selecting "nothing" under server notifications" you can also set it to only notify for @mentioned.
an @ mention means when someone calls your name such as @Legend it will notify you (and highlight the text). This is good if you want your friends to be able to ping you to come play a game, without having to use a PM
You can also control each channels' options from this menu
You have further customization options within the user settings notifications to adjust which sounds you will hear *note* this effects ALL servers you are connected to

Account Setup
Keep in mind that usernames are NOT unique
In order to make sure discord works properly across multiple devices, make sure to setup an account. Signing up for an account is NOT required. You can register an account here: https://discordapp.com/register and then sign in on the discord application. You can do this under the "gear cog" in the lower left hand corner and then filling out username information.

Managing Channels
Discord has two styles of channels, text channels and voice channels. These are differentiated between channels starting with a carrot (>) and #(text channels)

Managing servers, friends and messages
You can easily make your own server that you invite only your friends to, by select the plus on the left hand side, you can flip through multiple servers quickly by selecting on the icon representing that server.
The Icon at thew top with three heads is where you can view your private messages and see your friends
you can also add friends by viewing their profiles, select their name from the right hand side, go to "Profile" and then "send friend request"
