Really? Why Halo 2?

Probably the same reason it lands in the bad endings list for me too: you kill Tartarus and get left off at a cliffhanger ending that wasn't resolved until 3 years later on a completely different console. If it'd been on the Xbox as well I don't think it would have been quite as bad, but basically forcing people to buy a 360 to continue the story was a slap in the face IMO.

I thought of COD: Ghosts, it made the whole campaign seem useless :/ (That is my favorite part of a COD game)

Mass Effect. Yes, I'm that guy who didn't enjoy the end of the third.

This exactly ^

I don't care about endings at all.

If the gameplay was fun and I had a good time, what does the ending really matter?

Perhaps the developer is setting the game up for a sequel?

I'm all for taking things for face value, but sometimes it isn't that clear cut as to why endings happen the way they do.

I tend to play games that don't really end. But I have played many games that did have endings, like Half Life. I've never really felt one way or the other about how games have ended. If I liked it enough to play it to the end it must have been okay. :)

I know the question is about endings, but how about the entire game of Quake IV, including the ending? The SP took about 12 hours to complete, and you get a barely two minute cut scene of you stepping down from the helicopter and your captain coming up to you and saying "You have new orders."

I actually don't really play games with endings.

50-50 to me. Somewhat; a bad ending has tarnished a good game before.

The story is a huge part of a single player game for me. I haven't really been disappointed in the ones that I've played, like Bioshock Infinite, Freespace, Descent trilogy, Half-life 2, Serious Sam. Some, say like Battlefield, you can't go in with huge expectations.

DOOM will have SP so I am hoping that will be pretty good.
