Alright. Maybe this is one of those things that everyone knows and forgot to tell me (it happens lol) or no one knows it.

If you create a shortcut for TF2 and add a '-condebug' to the target field, like the following...

"D:\program files\Steam\Steam.exe" -condebug

Your console will be recorded to a file called 'console.log' in the:
D:\program files\Steam\steamapps\jonasblue26a\team fortress 2\tf

directory...That was a mouthful...

Why?? You ask. This will record any punkish/ban-worthy instances in chat as well as make you feel safer not having to write down a person's steam id on paper (just type 'status' into console and you are ready for a request ban :) ) You could even ban multiple people at a time !amazed (jk...unless you need to)

Ah! I knew my parameters were missing something.

Now, to write a parser that pulls out all my bans so I can log them. Huzzah!

My parameter field will be getting huge. I have lots of fun stuff in it. I think I'll just play with Stib and let him keep the console log.

You can also do this w/out having to create a shortcut, just right click on Team Fortress in the My Games tab, select Properties, Set Launch Options, then add the parameters there.

Nice find, by the way.

I could have an official title like..."Keeper of the Log" lol

And nice tip Johnny! I like it. And I did not know that Troth..TY

Monkeybits - just out of curiosity, what do you have in your parameters field?

If you're worried about missing the steam ID, you don't have to write it down on paper or go back to a log. Instead look up the person in the player stats for the server (It is between "Contact Us" and "Awards" on the main menu).

This is what I use when I have to write a ban request because alt-tabbing screws up my game. Also, if I have to kick somebody, I would rather kick them right away before they do any more harm and then look up their information later.
