Pretty cool WWII images of Russia

Not sure if anyone has seen this before, but it came across my facebook feed this morning and thought I would share. I had seen this about a year ago but forgot about it until just now.

I don't care for some of the images of the graves but from my understanding, these guys have a government grant in Russia to do dig up and catalog all of these items. The MG43 picture is one of my favorites.

You'll see nowadays more exhuming and excavation of battlefields and sites due to- from what I understand- more relaxed laws and regulations when it comes to such work. Due to the... erm... pretty obvious fact people died there. :blink:

Nonetheless, some of this work is partly due to further construction and excavation work in Russia and/or geographic surveying- and it's fairly common, if not wholly expected, to come across a mass ammo-dump and/or buried encampment to then rediscover many years later.

Mostly in Russia/Poland, but I can expect to see some finds and projects pop up in Germany and/or France. :thumbup:
