Planned Network Upgrade

Valued Customers,

We will be performing a full core network overhaul in our Chicago Datacenter TODAY Sunday 04/10/2016 @ 11AM Central. During this window, we will be replacing our current Core and distribition switches with Juniper QFX5100 Platforms! This will result in higher network throughput and performance, as well as giving us much greater scalability and redundancy going forward as we continue to grow.

We expect a total impacted time of 30 minutes - 4hrs.

If you have any questions or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to ask!

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to grow and upgrade our infrastructure! Our goal is to provide the absolute best service and network performance possible - with no sacrifices!

I am just going to take it at face value..an update..........is it possible to get a member of the tech div to translate?....:P

Well, I'm not part of the tech div, but I'll try to put it simply.

It looks to me like they're simply replacing older, slower, lower-capacity network switches with fancy new, high-performance, high-capacity ones. This basically further enhances the efficiency of the network traffic, while also increasing overall capacity (capacity = how much bandwidth the switch and/or overall network can handle).

Spot on! It's nice to see that they're reinvesting the money back into their servers. A lot of hosts don't do that.

Very true. As far as I'm aware, EOReality uses a company called USDedicated in their Chicago location. USDedicated itself is actually owned by the founder of EOReality, so he's got two different fairly successful reasons to want to upgrade their locations and networks.
