I was talking to 14th Eagle yesterday and we were agreeing on how it would be cool if there was a 24/7 Payload server, Upward to be specific. But a 24/7 Payload in general would be fun. This would probably make for a busy server as Payload is one of the more played gamemodes for casuals these days on TF2. I realize that making a server isn't something that just happens instantly and that it's not easy to do but it would just be cool if there was one. If this is in the wrong section or anything just let me know and I'll move it.

I will say that Upward is one of TF2's more popular maps. Even if a similar server hasn't worked out in the past, we shouldn't let that bother us too much given our dedication to keeping our servers filled with at least a few people. In addition, the move to Chicago has opened us up a fair bit to new players.

While I understand that the current goal should be to focus on Turbine and Dustbowl, a new payload server would still be, as I always say, fantastic! I tend to subscribe to the mindset that offering new and different servers keeps people interested and brings more people to the community's servers, while offering more opportunities to recruit and meet new people. Upward is one of those maps that will bring in a lot of fun-loving players.

Just my two cents.

We used to have an "Upwater" rotation Server (Badwater/Upward) I don't recall which of the two maps caused it to empty out but we had one. Could be maybe just upward on its own does better, who knows all i know is I think they want to focus on the two servers they have for now before they tackle a third.
Back in my day we had 6-7 servers but It was probably a bit too much for the amount of active members we had so we went down to 4, also didn't help servers were in umm texas :p (jk)

Best thing i can suggest, Help them out with getting to whatever desired rank they're wanting be, maybe then propose a map and server with some of the membership's help like a post with a poll maybe? (but a bit later down the road). Recruit some pubs and make Nudist Colony happy:P Who knows I might someday have people to play with at 1am-2am (adulting makes me sad).

If I was active enough, i'd personally like to see a valve maps type server come back but that's just me so don't pay mind :D I'm pretty much a unicorn nowadays due to work/school so cant help sadly. I'll admit i'm excited to see where the TF2 division goes from here.

Pretty much what Maserati said. When I was a seriously active member, ego had around 10 32 person tf2 servers (including a PL server) with at least half of them full 24/7 with 30 min wait times to join the server. TF2s popularity has decreased since then and alot of ego member went from being able to play 4 hours every night to having to deal with real life (college, full time job, ect) so leadership has had to cutback on servers.

Pretty much the only way to get a new server is to try to keep the current servers populated for a reasonable amount of the day. Also if we do get a new server it needs to be a single map server cause too many people leave during map changes or round changes.

I agree with all of the things you guys are saying. Although TF2 has lost a lot of its popularity, (I personally think CS:GO really killed it.) it's still one of the most played games on Steam with more than 50,000 players daily so hopefully the servers will stay alive as I'm sure they will.

We had this server a few years ago. Towards the end it was our tricky one to keep filled. As the others said, with the way TF2 is now, I do not see it being a likely option for a comeback

If we do ever earn a server. Should try to make it a weekly rotational server or something. One week it be 2fort, next goldrush/badlands, then egypt, and then blackmesa. Over time weed out the maps that are not bringing in the pubs.

Look, Team Fortress 2 is not dying. From valve's involvement in competitive to streams to matchmaking, the player base is increasing. There's still hundreds of servers that are full 24/7, and the amount of people actively playing tf2 is rising, and will most likely continue to increase with the actual release of matchmaking.

While the game is doing just fine, the divisions numbers have been going down for quite some years now. While pubs do contribute to us having more servers, if there're no members that enjoy playing on them or stand to fill them, we'll lose the server. That's what's happened in the past.

tl;dr Keep dustbowl up in ranking and recruit more people that enjoy playing on our severs. I guarantee that will make the server list grow.

D: badwater...................................................................................

Upward or Badwater is a hard decision because they are both really good maps

does no one remember our Payload rotation map

hardest server ever to fill

if we're looking to add servers that'll never fill, at least choose something good like Egypt ;)

I concur, I mean Nyaa!~~~ ...Nyaaa~~~!! Ignore this crazy meowth. I got to play with some college friends on a valve server today for a bit before work was soo happy when it rotated to THAT map :D

Then I went on dustbowl and tried to help pocket Pzycho

Before I went of to college (2011), I swear the PL server was more often filled than Dustbowl. Just need some really passionate members to keep her filled. Count me as one if we ever get it back cause I love to push teh little cart.
