What the heck happened? I just took time off for my birthday and classes!

Yeah, the new CS update kinda broke MAUL a little and the servers went a little haywire for a few days.
But it is now working tickety boo again, as it mentions in this thread made earlier today - http://www.edge-gamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299765

The prisoners all broke loose out of prison and cause havoc throughout the city the last few days. Today, they are round up and back in their prison cells.

So someone misused their ability and broke a thing. This thing connected our sanity to our bodies. Everyone started to go mad with and created chaos. The flame was then born. Out of this flame came CS Leadership to restore order through the broken connection of sanity and body. It was only a temporary fix until a soul warden could create a new connection, stronger then the last. It took time, expensive resources, and a goat (was named bill, 3 years of age, lived in a nice farm) sacrifice to be completed. After the link was restored, medviah concealed the flame. For the Fire will come in handy.... one day.
