So on my laptop my charger wiggles around a great deal and has to be in the perfect position to even provide charge. Now despite where I put it it no longer charges. I have an understanding that the port is the problem rather than the charger itself so I was wondering if there was a way in which I could manually fix this or do so for cheap? Thanks!

Some of the more recent laptops have them where they are easily replaceable. However, it would involve taking it apart. Chances are that you are looking at a solder job. The plugs themselves can be had for cheap, less than 10 dollars on eBay shipped to your door.
One can easily perform the fix by taking the laptop apart, getting to the plug, removing it, soldering the new one on there, and putting it back together. 2 minute job, 2 hour tear down.
