Art is hard to define, but I believe all videogames are art..........even Ride to Hell
 
Some games are definitely art. There are games out there that focus entirely on the killing and objectives, and then there are well rounded games with lore and amazing images.
 
As others have said, art can be difficult to define - especially since we're all so different, our opinions and thoughts on what we consider to actually be art etc.

I personally would consider a game that focuses on landscapes/level design with beautiful graphics to be somewhat art. Some games I would consider art purely because of the story they tell (singleplayer).

Most FPS games (multiplayer at least) I probably wouldn't consider art.
 
Game Design is an Art isn't it. so yes its an Art.
 
Don't be mean, some people suck at art, does not make it not art. Like my school career
 
The latest puzzle games I think are an art, a lot of Japanese titles that are not the hack and slash would be considered art. Journey in my opinion is an art because it is an amazing game, the style is just great.

Depending on the concept of the creator, if it is unheartedly created for only the purpose of money, then the game could be considered an economical art piece.

If made only for the pleasure of it's splendor, to be enjoyed by many, then it is no doubt an art piece in itself.

Either way I say it could be considered art in one form or another, depending on an individual's point of perspective.
