How you got your steam username!

I'm better than Deluxe. I'm DeeLuxxed.

I don't actually remember how I came up with this. I used it when I was like 14 or something for a game called Combat Arms and then when I changed my name in eGO from my real name I changed it to this. I use it for literally everything and I don't know why.

God, I spent so much time on that game. Almost want to go back on it if it is still avaliable just to see how much is changed

From 1999 - 2003 I used to build and fight robots. BattleBots was my first competition and Village Idiot was my first robot's name.

~ 2003 I was invited by a friend to build a bot for the BattleBots rival show at the time, Robot Wars. I made plans to build the robot and picked a name for it - Steelbilly. That particular bot never came to fruition but I liked the name and started using it for my gamer tag.

Steel - my primary building material was mild steel as it was easy to work with out of the garage. Put Steel together with billy and it sounds a lot like hillbilly. If I had went to Robot Wars it would have been wearing a straw hat and overalls. They required a theme which I thought was lame.

Steelbilly was a pun, son. I say, I say, a pun!

OH MY GOSH!!!! I saw a video with Village Idiot vs Complete Control! YOU WERE THAT GUY. I love the story pal! You should have won though, just so you know I was rooting for Village Idiot. Red driver ready!

I did much better at the event before that one (went 4:1) and made it to the semi finals. That video is my second trip to BattleBots where I lost my first fight. Single elimination stinks. Complete Control ended up fighting for the championship so at least I got eliminated by a a finalist.

The bot I made to take back to BattleBots after that one was hell on wheels. The show was cancelled before I got to compete with the new version though... Still makes me a little sick to think about it.

I took on the monicker of Deus Ex Machina (2xMakina) in around 2006. When I went to make a Steam account, the name came with me.

The reason I took on the name when I did was that at the time, I was the guy they called in as a "problem solver." The one a lot of conventional wisdom didn't apply to. I suppose in retrospect I could have gone with "Hannibal," but the A-Team is kinda overdone and I wanted some semblance of originality.

Except everybody and their uncle had taken Deus Ex -- even a video game.

So I had to "get creative" with the spelling.

I actually got the idea from a now-ended webcomic called "Movie punks" and there's a line that goes "Now you're gonna do some Doos Ex Makina?"

And I realized that "Deus" sounded a lot like "Deuce"...or two.

And 2XMakina was born.

I know, kinda boring compared to the last ones. But SOMEONE had to come after the awesome and let you all down.

Mine was at back at 2007 on a website that I forgot. I wanted to make a new account for that website, so I thought of a random name for a few minutes and then it was "wow". The "5694" part was me typing the numbers as I created my username on that website.

Well, I'm really into music, more specifically, jazz. I play saxophone so jazz music is something I play a whole lot, and I enjoy doing it. I used to just go by "Jazz", in my one season of comp as a medic, that was my name. I then saw b4nny for the first time in a live stream, and I thought the way he used the 4 in his name was really creative, so I unceremoniously adopted the 4 in my name as "j4zz".

Then, some time a few months ago, I adopted the name "j4zzy", to emphasize that I am indeed a jazzy person.
