Not sure, Iv noticed it too, is losing its population.

The numbers have been a bit hit and miss since the server move, I believe. Just keep the efforts going to fill and push it back to #1!!

Hopefully with college students done and high school almost finished for this year we get better numbers. I've noticed the population of Ava has been really low when I get on in the mornings when it used to be filled with the Euro players.

Well the game is over 16 years old and no major updates so it is getting stale.
I will be on more as my shoulder heals.
Keep playing and it may turn around.

This is probably the biggest issue with the game. Although it isn't showing any signs of dying yet, it is aging. I don't see it going away for some time and our servers are so regularly filled. Keep up the filling efforts and we will definitely stay strong.

I wish I could do as much filling as I used to, but work has been holding me back the past few weeks with tire changing season. I'm slowing down a little so hopefully I can make the push again

DoD:s was already dying, But with games like Battalion and Dow coming it will probably be over very soon.

How many times have I heard this before, it doesn't matter that it is a old game or that they don't update it. Dods is addictive and still a good game.

Sadly the euro players are going elsewhere as the server change was not announced before on the server so no one knew, I have been on other servers where they asked if ego had folded...............how bizarre.
And yes I have been in spec for days now, but when I want to play I will look at others mainly French FF on.
Most of the e's and I have seen some O's play on other server dods servers, understandable as most people only have a limited play slot.
It's all part of the parcel, every part of the world comes on the server at different times hence it was always populated, but still you have "meetings" on US time.
Just a thought.

True that, But that doens't take away that there are still servers being closed and players leaving the game.

I have no data or real evidence to back this up, but it could be a possibility that numbers are slowing down due to summer coming with warmer temps, people stop playing indoor computer games during the day/night as much and are doing more outdoor activities instead.

It's generally busy when I get on in the evenings still, I def don't see the game dying anytime soon. It's been around this long with many games launched in between. Long live DOD:S

There will always be a place in my heart (and hard drive) for a [WW2 FPS] type of game. For the last 10 years its been DOD:S. If DoW is the successor, great. If not, DODS will continue to be the one until everyone shuts down their servers (cue Goodbye to a World - Porter Robinson).

Predecessors of DOD:S still have servers running so I would think that DOD:S would still remain. As long as you guys continue playing a game, I would be proud to join you.

I have run many fps game servers in my past days. I can tell you the main cause for the fall off is this last move did not include an ip redirect. When you change the server ip and force users to find the server, you will see a great user fall off. Hence, the day and night time fall off of users.

The old server remained up for a while, but was locked and included the IP of the new server in the title, stating it had moved.

That maybe the case but it might have been wiser to have posted the new IP's in server while the old ones were still going and then have a redirect going once it had changed.
