Definitely need it for Dark Souls. Moving the camera with mouse is insane at times.
 
Most racing games I'll use a controller. And for the occasional controller use in an FPS, I'll plug in my scuf
 
Dark souls and Final fantasy defin using one other than that I hate using the controller
 
Dark Souls is the only PC games I use a controller for. I have one of those cheap Logitech F310 controllers.
 
A common misconception in the Battlefield world is that the 'ace' pilots use a controller and are therefore at an advantage. In reality most including myself prefer the precision of the mouse and keyboard.
 
Hasn't cross platform gaming proven KB+M >>>>> Controller?

Every single development article I've ever read has said they have to dumb it down or add auto aim for controller to be on the level of KB+M??

For FPSes most certainly, but for a game like rocket league (which is cross-platform) it doesn't matter as much, you could use either one really well.

True, there are many games that are much much better with a controller but the main games that I play are much better with out it. If I get more games that require a controller then I will get one or use my PS4 controller.
 
I think the only racing games I ever played on a PC (Other than GTA V if that counts) were Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, forever ago, and Need For Speed Most Wanted back in 2005/6. I have never wanted to use a controller so I have never tried, but I absolutely despise the controllers for the XBOX 360/One because I tried using them and couldn't hit anything. Nothing is really done precisely, you have to move two joysticks and spray. My friend let me play a game on his One, I think it was Gears of War. I was getting so mad.
 
I use an Xbox One gamepad for Oculus games, given most were developed for the gamepad; and even though motion controllers are best for VR, gamepad still works better than keyboard+mouse for VR titles, imho.
 
it really really depends, I have eGO to blame for this!

Once upon a time, I was a console gamer, then Team Fortress and I got acquainted. The rest is history. I still use a controller for Fighters, racing games, story mode type games, Rocket League it really depends on the occasion and my xbox controller is there for those times of need.
