Yep, same here. Community Management would also benefit my future goal of becoming a police officer, since the job is working with the public, much like Community Management is.

It depends; the importance of game developers will be of higher significance if VR and Augmented Reality truly take hold. If not, I think if someone has an ambition to work with computers (in a computer science sense) should look into developing Artificial intelligence because it would have a large impact on society and technology.

Gaming has definitely influenced my choice in pursuing a career in software engineering, although it is safe to say that I will probably not be developing games too often.

Maybe, location and pay is definitely an important factor. I worked as a video game tester before. The salary wasn't that great & after my contract expired, I ended up '' on-calls '' basically waiting to be able to work again. It wasn't really for me at that point because I love food and need money to buy some.

However, it was probably the best experience I ever had for a job. It's actually great to be surrounded by people who share the same passion as you. When you do something you love, life gets to be a bit easier and enjoyable.

Yes without a shadow of a doubt not sure on what I would do role wise, but I would love to be apart of the games industry.
