New Hardware Lookin To Buy Some Nice New Things

So... my current build features a AMD FX-8350 OC'd at 4.4GHz, and an ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 MoBo w/ 8gbs RAM. I'm hoping that there's some CPU geniuses in here who keep up on the new CPU's being put on the market.

I know AMD has the Zen processor coming out later this year, but we don't know too much about it. I have been looking into switching over to Intel due to their single core performance. My budget would be something under $400 including both processor and MoBo. My question is, should I stick around for the new processors to come out, or try and switch it up to something that is already released?

With what you have currently is fairly good for the market.

If you're going to want to change out for the new Zen processor, its probably gonna be around 200 for it.
This is a supposed "leak" for the zen benchmarks...

looks like it runs stable for an 8-core, at appx 3GHz with the DDR4 ram running a 14-16-16-31 CR2 timing.

As the benchmark shows it looks like its gonna be pretty beefy (beating out the 20-core xeon server CPU...)



On the MB side, the new AM4 socket will be able to be swapped as per AMD's plans for the new chips will just be swapped out... ( tbh i dont think it will be like this)
but they should support PCI-E 3.0 slots for high-end GPUs such as the GTX1080 (Newegg price)
And most of them will likely support upto 64Gb of DDR4 ram... guessing around 200-400 for the cost of them...
look into either ASUS, or MSI for the new one to be released first...


Dont want to get the intel 10-core ($1700 for just the CPU)...

Wow old benches that were posted on April 1st by a guy that said some of them were fake lulz... Still got to wait for some real benchmarks for Zen sadly, around the end of the year if we are lucky :/
Price wise no one has a solid idea what it's going to be.

As for the new AM4 Motherboards coming out, we will know more very soon because they are launching soon here for the new APU line that AMD dropped at the last big tech show.
Also PCI 2.0x16 will have zero chance of bottlenecking any of the new GPU's coming out..

Also yeah the new Intel extreme came out at $200 more then what people were expecting it to come out for. But then again those CPU are not for your everyday kind of buyers (why extreme editions come with the hefty price tag) for the every day user and gamer, the 4 cores have been plenty for them.
