When I am playing CS:GO Casual or GTA V or something I always listen to music, but if I am in TS I do not as I can't hear people talking to me.

im very much the same... if im playing some casual or dm on go, then yeah i will listen to something, but playing a comp or something where i need to/want to hear sounds like foot steps then yeah i will kill the tunes.

when i get bored or want a more upbeat music to keep myself from getting bored as i have a small attention span. but when i am in TS listening to others is like music to my ears...

deafening music that is.

Depends on the game. TF2, Rocket League, Battlefield, oldschool doom definitely. Ones that require more interaction or newer ones I probably won't

Nothing better then jammin out to some Katy Perry, T Swift and Kesha while punishing noobs on Siege of Shanghai!

I will be playing League CS:GO TF2 even minecraft and I'm always listening to hard rock and classic rock no matter what.

Footsteps for me. Used to get called a hacker quite a lot while I played CS:S because I was using a high end headset through which I could quite easily hear footsteps well before the enemy knew I was there.

depends on whether I'm playing alone, with others, what game, my mood, and also the food I'm eating.

I generally am, outside of DoD:S realism events. Even with TS open. i usually just keep it fairly quiet in the background

My favorite.

I never understood why people listened to music while playing. Like, wouldn't you want to hear the game sounds to play better? Music always distracts me.

It really depends on what I'm playing. I like to listen to music whilst settlement building in FO4, or grinding in WoW for instance. But usually, listening to music while I'm playing something like BF4 or CS:GO bugs the hell out of me, because it ruins my sense of awareness via sound.
