Office fortifications

I get really tired of people coming in my office during the day just to disrupt my creative train of thought. I have tried a couple of different ways to keep them out. I had an annoyatron, but that really started to annoy me, so I just put that in someone else's office. Then I got a rocket launcher, but they are foam rockets and don't do much good. The IT guy here is working on poisonous tips for them, but that is taking longer than expected.

So, as discussed in the chat box this morning, I thought a curtain of fire in the doorway to my office would be a great deterant to keep the ne'erdowell's out. It took a bit of thought and a trip to Lowe's but it seems to be working fine. What do you think?

Honestly, I would just find the perfect location in the room for a lvl 3 Sentry Gun. Let it handle everything. Get a wrench and hit it every so often to make sure it has a full stock of ammo and rockets, and stays in tip-top shape.

Haha, I just noticed I have that exact keyboard at my desk. I don't have any California Raisins though due to space issues. I'd hate to get crit by a raisin-rocket.

So, I got my sentry up.

So far, it's been a great backup system in case anyone gets through the curtain of fire. But, the curtain of fire tends to heat up my office quite a bit, so I only use it in emergencies. The sentry gun has been great though, with only a couple of drawbacks so far. The beeping everytime someone came near was really annoying at first. I'm starting to like the beeps though, they let me know when to look up so I can watch my coworkers scramble past my office in a hurried panic. I'm considering some sort of lubricant on the floor in the hallway, just to add to all the fun. The only other drawback is the damage to the other side of the hallway.

Although, I'm sure it's nothing a litle bit of drywall can't handle.

Hah, I made a similar pic and used that same image of the sentry (why is it so hard to find a good pic of the sentry?).

You really need to get a dispenser up so you can upgrade that sentry to level 3 (Although seeing the damage that the guns did to the wall, maybe rockets would be a bad idea.). I almost feel bad for the people that aren't trying to get into your office but are just happening by.

It really is hard to find a decent pic of a sentry. You know, to model the real one in my office after. I was actually looking for a side view, I thought it would look good on my dresser thingy over there and be more of a surprise to those who enter.

The first day was rough, since I was wearing blue. I had to find my cloaking device to get out. Luckily I look good in reds and pinks though, so I can walk in and out at my leisure now.

So, how exactly *would* a sentry interpret the color purple? Friend or foe? Both, perhaps?
