Battlefield 4 Shanghai Technicality

Quick question,

Had a dispute in Shanghai earlier over some rules. I will be the first to admit, I do not frequent Shanghai often so am a bit more unfamiliar with the rules involving uncaps. Two heli guys on the opposing team wanted to pull a technicality about some guy on our team flying around their base with the transport. I believe he was stealing tanks every so often. The rules state not to enter uncaps. As a heli they are not entering the uncap, but they do have to exit the heli, entering the uncap, to enter the tank. Nothing says that you can not steal opposing vehicles, but technically, the individual did "enter the uncaps" to exchange vehicles. This being the case, I would assume the individual acquiring the opposing tank is at fault, correct?

Now my technical question, if you punish this guy for walking into the uncaps (which is rule number one: do not enter the uncaps) if you, as a heli pilot/gunner, exit your vehicle out of infantry bounds to repair, are you not also breaking the "technical" rules of entering the uncaps?

In my experience, if a player enters the uncap in ANY means, via walking in, transport in, exiting a vehicle in, they are violating the rules. This being the case a warning is needed.

If an air vehicle is flying over the enemy uncap and NOT combating the enemy or causing grief then some leniency is required due to increased out of bounds area for vehicles. If the player is attacking enemies in their spawn (both infantry and vehicles) that is a violation of shooting into the uncap.

Leadership please correct me if I am wrong, but that is the experience I have in these types of situations.

To counter this, players being attacked in their spawn should spot the enemy air vehicle ASAP to allow the AI Anti-Air to attack the spotted target, either destroying enemy or forcing them to flee. If the said player returns to the spawn again, I would politely warn them and ask them to stop harassing the players in the opposing teams spawn/uncaps and to continue playing the game fairly.

Of course the policy of W/K/B applies to all violations of the rules and as an eG you should kick with your own discretion. Posting and asking on the forums is also an excellent way in learning how to handle situations such as these for future issues.

If said player returns after a kick and returns to the uncaps and causing grief in the same manner, please collect chat logs of the Warning and kick from our GameMe and create a ban request. Leadership will then view the matter and take the necessary steps to resolve the issue.

Like LBr said and to add a point: If they are flying into uncaps to steal any vehicles that is Entering uncaps. W/K/B scenario

Aircraft may only enter the air space of the enemy uncap to pursue an opponent that is fleeing back into the uncap. They must then exit immediately. They may not fire on any enemy forces until they have left the air space of the uncap as they entered at their own peril. To do so is to violate entering enemy uncap. Thus, they may not loiter over enemy uncap, they may not exit their vehicle to capture enemy vehicles, they may leave or die without firing a shot once killing the aircraft they followed in.

Thanks for the quick feedback! This is basically the same conclusion I had come to when ingame with the particular individuals in question.

So this goes back to my 2nd question from the above post; should a player be allowed to exit the heli to repair when in need, even if the heli is out of bounds being that the individual "enters the uncaps" to do so?

You are very welcome to repair your heli in your own uncap. Just know that you have zero protection if someone is pursuing you.

If you enter an enemy uncap to shoot down a retreating chopper and you need to repair near the enemy uncap, I see no reason you can't so long as you do not fire upon others who have spawned in the uncap. Emergency repair your chopper and get out.

Except for the rule that you may not enter the enemy uncap for any reason. That would include landing and getting out of your aircraft to repair it. Also the rule not to go out of bounds to advance.( which in this case would mean advancing the condition of your vehicle to continue combat by going out of bounds to safely repair it.)

So, Tipton, am I correct in saying that it would not be allowed to repair your vehicle in any uncap? Being that you have to "enter the uncap" to do so. I've always been under the same assumption as Juan above but it was an interesting thought when the two heli guys were nitpicking the others that day.

You can repair your helo in your own uncap but if you had already engaged in battle the enemy helo can attack you even if retreating back but they must then fly out when the air battle is over and never stay in or over the uncap
