Running out of space.

Running out of space to install games. Was wondering would I have to go buy a new drive to replace the one I'm already using? or can I add another along with the current one?

Sure you can.

First thing I would suggest is cleaning up your current drive a bit - What can you remove? Applications could probably be deleted a bit, clean up some caches, etc.

Adding a second drive is usually a very simple process. There's a lot of youtube videos and guides available.

Is this a laptop or desktop? If it is a desktop, this procedure is extremely easy. A laptop, not so much.

I've done a bit of clean up and removing programs didn't really make a dent. It's a desktop and I'd rather not transfer over everything to another one if I can just pop another one in and go.

Just buy a new hard drive, plug it in to your system, and format it (might already do it, but I forget) then tell Steam/Origin/UPlay/Blizzard to install to that new hard drive.

Also download something called SteamTool which will move all the games you want to that new hard drive clearing up space on the drive you have now.

If you want to see major performance increase I would recommend buy an SSD, they make a better increase.

SSD is the best bet, but takes some time. It's better to have your OS and large/demanding games on the SSD, and everything else to the HDD

An additional HDD or SSD would work wonders when having a lot of games. I have a 1TB HDD that holds about 600-700GB of space for my steam games, sadly that much HDD space is only about 35 games out of the 230 I have in total. The games that I do have installed are ones with high HDD space and new ones, GTA V is like 60GB which is crazy, others with as high HDD space. I need to upgrade and get a 2-4TB HDD so that I can just have Steam on the HDD. I might do a SSD if I save up enough.
