whick map do you like best me i dont like either one and right no at 12:00pm sunset has 4/32 and convoy 9/32 the next lowest one is 19/32 so why will everyone miss these maps

Sunsettown is a fun map. some great fights can break out. just about every class can play a role at the map.

Convoy is my least favorite.

I love convoy, but it can get sniperific and very bogged down with fortifications. Sunsettown is a very fast CTF map, much like 2Fort but without the turtling up. You can break any defense and all classes are very valuable in Sunsettown. I like sniping, but in Convoy V1, it's a bit too prominent.

We really need to change convoy to v1.5 or v2. Its still my absolute favorite map irregardless of version.

i like convoy but i hate snipers there.. i wish we could ban that class on that map xD sunset is also very fun.. fast gameplay but overall i think convoy is the best

How about badlands..?

Sunsettown has good gameplay, but it doesn't feel quite finished. Convoy I feel is horrible -- the classes and gameplay are incredibly unbalanced, and the map is ridiculous laggy -- just purely bad design.

Convoy V2 was some of the most fun I've had in TF2. It was a constant barrage of attackers and a very respectable handful of snipers, rather than everyone sitting on their own truck twiddling thumbs.

I don't play on convoy too often, but I feel that an excess of open spaces (as you move around the map) allows snipers to have the advantage. I'd rather play on sunset town because it is more balanced. As a spy on that map, I particularly had a lot of fun.

Personally I like Convoy its what got me into the clan, my only problem now is, with sirberticus(?) releasing those maps, a lot more people seem to be sniping, plus it made it so other classes, and other snipers know right where you are. Sunset was fun, but its way to easy for teams to get a few heavies/medics into the enemy intel and shut them down. But sunset for blackmesa, i would love to see once blackmesa is fixed fully.

I prefer sunset one beacuse it has more of a TF2 feel to it.. it is hard to explain. Also Convoy has big lag isssues for me and they become unbareable at times. Sunset is smooth(er) and is a bit more fun for me.

I know what you mean. TF2 has that "Western/American/Farm" Red vs. "Industry/Big Business" Blue feel and style even though the individual characters draw upon many different cultures and races.

Sunset definitely displays that theme very well. The intel in control rooms exemplifies this very well. Also the color palette is very appropriate.

Convoy also has a "TF2 feel." Come on, there are two GIGANTIC rockets. Think of all the other places where there are gigantic rockets. Dustbowl for example. Of course, convoy takes a cue from Unreal Tournament whereas to my knowledge, sunset-town is pure TF2.

Why not put it on a daily rotation
Like today the server is running convoy, tomorrow its sunsettown, the day after that its black mesa and so on
That way everyone gets to play on their favorite custom map and the only people we alienate are those that are stubborn and only want to play one map all the time and really how big of a loss is that =D

Or maybe even change it once a week so theres less work for the admin types

Daily Rotations have already been discussed before to not working, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, daily rotations would be annoying because you have to adjust your gaming schedule to the rotation.

Convoy doesn't have the "TF2 Feel" because it's a homage to an old Unreal Tournament map.
That aside, even with the 4 snipers per team, I am becoming a huge convoy fan. It does lag for people with less powerful PCs. I dunno tough call. For ctf, I'd prefer Well over either. Or switch it back to badlands. Wow, I could talk about maps all day
