I have not played it but I have started to see a bunch of people playing this all of the sudden. Also, I have heard the horror stories of people walking into traffic while playing :O
 
What is this and has any small child been hit by a car or train because of it yet?

I have the original iPhone (yes, the very first one that ever came out). Considering you need at least version 8.x.x, I don't think my phone can run it. Especially since it actually cannot upgrade past 3.1.2 :(

I play but I think I'm only going to dabble with it. I think it's going to get boring pretty quickly.
 
Yes. I have actually gone out into the city on the hunt for Pokemon and gyms. I even play it at work standing behind the counter. I almost had a Bulbasaur but the customers came in and I had to give them my attention...

You move by physically walking around. Inside your apartment won't work. You have to go outside and walk distance to run into pokemons and hunt down the ones that it shows are "nearby". It uses your phones GPS and overlays a google-map street layout that includes things like rivers and oceans and such.

People spend years failing at trying to get more people outside "exercising" and Nintendo gets millions outdoors in less than 24 hours.

My record is 4 consecutive hours walking around a nearby park, catching pokemon, battling the gyms there and getting free items from the pokestops.

If you don't already have a powerbank to charge your phone on the go, get one you will definitely hate yourself when a rare gets away because your battery died.
 
I live in Britain, so i have been crying everyday that passes and noticed it hasn't been released yet ...
In not sure though, i feel like im over hyping myself a little bit to much for this game.

Shoulda made the customers wait while you try to catch a Bulbasaur lol. Any customer would understand the peril needs of catching pokemon ;)
 
I downloaded it and played it for 1 minute but I'm not so sure about walking around and playing it, I dont want to die
