Tech Help Do I have the "Blue screen of death"?

Hi there, im posting this from my phone as my computer has had a bit of a mess today ...

When I turned on my computer this evening, I was greeted with an alarming message on the screen (image below). When I would click on the "Restore" button, it would start trying to restore my PC, however after waiting a while for it to do its "restore", it would simply just go back to the same screen ...
I tried doing this a couple of times, however the same thing happened again and again.

I then clicked on the "cancel" and "advanced options" button, this took me to a screen full of options, but I didn't want to mess with any thing. If had things such as "load with different drive" and "reset PC" or just simply "shut down" (which is what I had to do in the end). I can post picture in the morning if you need them to help me any further with this situation if need be ...

I would extremely appritiate if any of you guys reading this could give me a hand with this, before I will have to spent money on sending it to the computer store for them to check it out ...

It sounds a lot like your operating system has corrupted, if you are experiencing a loop like that. I would try the System Restore and Automatic Repair options from the "Advanced" menu. If neither of those work, you may be looking at reinstalling Windows. Try these options and get back to us, before you reset the system

Sounds like the same issue I had, and that issue is a bug within the newer windows, more specifically Windows 10. The only way I was able to resolve it was do a clean install unfortunately.

there are other ways around it, My other half had the bug followed that link, And it worked .

Right, not saying he has to do a clean install or anything, was just saying that was the only way I was able to fix it.

No worries, you just misunderstood what I said.

You could try to use a bootable medium to try to see if there is a problem with anything and try to get a iso file of the OS and try to use system restore from the iso image to iron out things with windows.

I followed all the steps, it worked initially and I got control back ...
However when I was reinstalling all my apps (TeamSpeak, Steam, Chrome etc.) it suddenly just crashed again and went back to the same automatic repair loop screen ...

Therefore after calling up and talking to my local PC store and getting there advice on my situation, I have decided to just cut my losses and just fully reset the PC and just start over again. This is extremely annoying as there was many files which I would have liked to keep, and also the fact that I will have to reinstall all my games and programs etc. but to me it is honestly just an easier solution to this problem. A totally crappy situation ik but yeah, thanks for all the help and suggestions you guys have given ... I should be back online later today if not tomorrow.

Clean install is annoying, but it's the only way it fixes it because the "bug" corrupts a windows file.

before you do that, steam does back up your games now to a thumb drive so you can install faster. And if the suggestion worked once. Why not try once more? Get to the point your able to grab your files?
