DC has been my cat for at least the last 10 years that I'm certain of, probably more. She was found outside in the backyard as a stray eating bird seed off the ground and was pretty obviously from a bad home prior to either being abandoned or running away due to her reactions to people. But over the course of a few weeks as we fed her she grew more attached to me once she realized I wasn't a threat.
She's almost 19 years old going off best estimates and hasn't been in great health lately, what with pretty bad arthritis in both knees and just typical older age ailments. And today after getting some information the vet believes her kidneys might have shut down based on how she's behaving around the house today... The last few days I've gotten a vibe from her that she doesn't have much left, but I didn't think it was going to be this soon. She goes in for blood work tomorrow morning.
She got the name DC for being a devilish cat, terrorizing the other two regularly. Now she's frequently laying around, mewing faintly... :crying:
