I don't really see either bonesaw or wrench is better than each other, just think about it. Since the wrench isn't that fast, but yet it has a small advantage over the bonesaw at crits. While the bonesaw is fast to swing repeatedly, but its crits are not as often as the wrench. In the end it really depends on the player itself, but I would choose the medic any day because of the speed. As a medic, I know that I have enough speed to kill a couple engys before they could even get a crit.

All melee weapons have the same damage and attack speed, well except for the bat.
And I don't think that any weapon crits more than any other. There are just some stats about how often these weapons ever had a crit. But that isn't only infight. Wrenches also crit when we engineers are whacking our stuff. So we obviously are having more crits because we don't only use our melee weapon for attacking our enemy or are saws also upgrading our sentries? I don't think so.

Bonesaw crits at around 17% default, the highest of the melee weapons. Saw it on the Steam forums a while back, can't recall where exactly. About 5 quick swings and you'll get a juicy crit.
