I stumbled upon the eGO servers a while back, and more or less consider them home at this point. Good solid people playing on the servers, no nasty sprays or profanity, no griefers, just a nice place to game. Only complaint is that the servers tend to be too popular. (grin)

While waiting to autojoin, I jumped into some random server. Had the tag on - and wow, the reaction on the server. Several started in on rude comments, tried to vote kick, and the few that had head sets -- nasty. Turns out many had been kicked and banned from eGO servers, which does not surprise me one bit. Those guys epitomized the type of people I try to avoid. What was interesting is they all knew what our servers and players expect - and for that, just wanted to say a big thank you. You all are exactly the type of people I want to be associated with.

Those who cannot live up to higher expectations tend to despise those who can. ;) In other words, sometimes doing what's right doesn't guarantee popularity. :D I'd rather have clean servers than popular ones any day...oh, and look at that: we have BOTH! :D Keep up the good work, buddy.

its not like it matters, every tf2 server is full around lunch time anyways :D.

It does matter. Its great to have clean servers and popular ones. Thanks /dev/null.

/Dev/Null is also the type of player ego wants to have around. Keep up the good work buddy :)

(please dont kill me too much in game, i'm only worth 1 point) hehe

Of course it's not good that people were being nasty to you. But I am really happy that eGO has established a reputation of having clean servers where people can just have fun away from griefers, hackers, and punks. This is why I joined the clan and these are the types of people that you want to be associated with. :D

You could always take off the 'e' tag before you join... <.<
But that would mean you dont value that shiney 'e' badge in front of your name. :P Where's the eGO spirit? :D

eGO is apparently pretty well known, even outside the typical FPS gaming circles. At a tech/computer hardware forum I'm a member of, we were having a discussion about girls' preferences as far as aftermarket PC cases. It started to veer off topic into a discussion of girls gaming and I briefly mentioned eGO and how we have a pretty decent number of female members. Apparently one of the people at this forum was pretty familiar with eGO, and it's reputation for being clean and enforcing rules as far as language.

Anyways, I confirmed his impressions as far as eGO being "strict" about language (his words, not mine) and punk-free gaming, and mentioned the link to the TF2 division website and where to find our servers list. I got a couple of replies:
"mmmm maybe i'll pay you guys a visit. ive been getting back into tf2."
"You have definitely piqued my attention. Bookmarked, and when I feel like trying online gaming again, I may pop in."

So of course, there are going to be people who don't care for the clean-gaming policy and will give you grief about it, but there are enough other people who appreciate it that I wouldn't lose sleep over those who don't.

If you cant play a game without cursing... then idk... It's just a game. I respect the rules on the servers very much and I have much fun on them playing against other people ^^

I strain myself completing three sentences without cursing.

Much less when I walk out of my spawn into a crit flame.

There's a reason push-to-talk is the default.

I have done some time in our servers with this new member and it is a pleasuse to get killed by you. I agree, it is scary on the outside, I very rarely play on other servers but when I did, man my ears were bleeding, everything from music mic spamming to unneeded cursing to constant whinning and text spamming, not to mention all the hacks & cheats players were using. Welcome aboard once again.

Everything that eGO is about is why I came to these servers. First couple times I joined, I was playing and mostly observing how the admins enforced the rules. They were doing a great job and I decided to check out the eGO website. Started looking around and joined. The eGO servers are now my TF2 home. If you see me around hit "e" and I may heal those wounds.
