One year ago, the Recruitment Hosts did not exist. Following leadership
changes and various minutia too convoluted to go into here, they had no leader and no
team... So we had to set them off to the side and focus on servers rather than recruitment.
But last January, I was given the opportunity to resurrect what had always been my favorite
specialty team. And so we began with Gusto, three Recruitment Hosts, doing our very
best to grow the division day by day. And we did fantastically. Prior to the form we use to
measure recruitment broke in June, we were clocking in at approximately 150 recruits for the
Team Fortress 2 Division for 2016, already exceeding that of 2015 in just half that time.
Changes rocked our division, but some things have remained constant. One of which being
a very important individual that constantly supported and backed the team no matter the
obstacle. They worked mainly in the shadows, providing suggestions and doing things
without being asked to. The Recruitment hosts, nay, the Division as a whole would not be
as vibrant as it is today without their assistance.
When someone makes an impact of that magnitude on a Division, they deserve to be recognized.
It is without further ado that I announce the appointment of -=DUH=- to Advisor!
This will come as a surprise to no one, I'm sure! -=DUH=- has been extremely devoted to this
Division, so it is only right that the Division gives back. She and her Recruitment Hosts will
continue to work diligently behind the scenes to ensure the spirit of Edge-Gamers is maintained
through our members, both new and old. Please congratulate her on her excellence not only as
an admin, but as a member of Edge-Gamers and as a wonderful individual with the cunning and
compassion to lead this Division to a brand new level of awesomeness!
As for me, I will be resigning my position as Advisor. I'm proud of my work and things I have
done to bring back this fantastic program. We've accomplished so much in just a few months,
but new opportunities with work and higher education have begun to take precedence over my
hobbies. I won't be around as often as I was before. It sucks that this had to be a "congratulations"
and a "goodbye" thread simultaneously, but frankly it's time to pass the torch to the newer
generation of EGO so that they can carry it in my stead. -=DUH=- is exactly the sort of person
I wanted to take over my role when I left... And above all else, I am relieved that I have someone
of this caliber to replace me.
Go do amazing things -=DUH=-, and best of luck. Make me proud!
