They are waiting too long, it is a mistake in my opinion. It's been over 10 years, many people who play CS:GO have no idea what half-life even is. Hopefully it will be released within the next 5 years, if they wait another decade, nobody will care.

At this point they're venturing dangerously close to Duke Nukem territory, and I feel it'd be far better to keep the game as vaporware than actually trying to live up to expectations.

I think valve is scared of releasing it because they won't meet peoples expectations, i mean there is so much hype it's kinda ridiculous but i still hope that they can release it somewhere in the next 5 years.

I know not what year will bring the release of half life the third, but I do know that VALVe will announce it on the first of April when they do.

Valve is sitting waiting for the next major change or technological advancement in video gaming (think VR) to announce half-life 3 to be the frontman of the new advancement and rake in tons of $$$. Otherwise, it will be so incredibly overhyped it will fall flat on its face just like almost every major "revolutionary" blockbuster game that has been released the past few years.

I feel like ValvE is never gonna release HL:3 because they could SAY they're gonna, but never will just for the sole purpose of keeping us under their fingers...but the Half Life series has died....I went around my high school asking Seniors if they've ever heard of Half Life the game...and only 7 out of about 40 seniors said they have....this is sad...
