Doom 3 scared the crap out of me, Alien Isolation is pretty darn scary as well! I still haven't finished it

I've played some here and there. One of my all time favorites is a title from about 10 years ago called Prey. Although the original sequel was cancelled, I'm really excited to try the reboot next year by Bethesda.

Some, I mean some would consider Doom and Quake somewhat "horror" themed which are some of the games I cut my teeth on years back. And afterwards I was a fan of the Silent Hill series (least SH 1 & 2) and Resident Evil series...

Oh, and Clive Barker's Undying.

Nowadays though it has to be an actually good game as opposed to just a game designed solely around trying to scare you for me to even glance at it. Things like Amnesia are in my Steam library, but I haven't ever played it due to how clunky all the mechanics are. And a lot of the ones now you couldn't even really call a "game" due to how little there is to do in them, like the Five Nights at Freddy's games.

I played a fair bit of resident evil and silent hill in my time. But I'm not much a fan of newer games, i don't find the story as goid

There's a difference between horror and thriller, keep in mind.

I personally mostly play thriller games versus the straight up jump scary, disturbing images stuff. Too much of a wimp
