Want to Upgrade PC (Need Help)

My Basic Specs are:

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Processor: Intel Quad Core i5-4590 @ 3.30GHz
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. H81M-D PLUS
Power Supply: Corsair CX600M

I don't think I need more RAM but I have 8gb installed at the moment.

My mom keeps asking me what I want for christmas. I am a pretty blessed and fortunate kid so I usually don't ask for anything. But since she wants to get me something, I figured I could upgrade my computer.

~ I basically want more performance and power. After about 4 hours of use, i have to completely shut down my PC then restart it to even be able to load up chrome. Even after then, it is still pretty laggy. So I want to be able to use it for longer with more "consistent" performance. Also, I get 200 FPS on CSGO on high settings but on H1Z1 low settings and Dead by Daylight low settings I only get 30-40 FPS. Also, one more thing... I found an old screen that I will use as a second monitor so I want an upgrade that will support that also.

Any thoughts from anyone who knows what they're doing? If so, thanks so much in advance!!

I think some of those issues may lie in your operating system setup. If you were to upgrade anything, perhaps jump to 16GB of RAM and a newer GPU. I think your CPU is fine. Do you use an SSD? That would give your system a great boost

8GB of RAM should be fine but 16GB would be better. SSD would be useful to speed up OS boot and other applications. And the GTX 1050 or 1060 should keep you up-to-date for a while.

Thank you very much guys. I appreciate it. I did some research and the Grapical Processing Unit is just my NVIDIA Graphics card right? or am I dumb... also what is a decent SSD that works well for my build but is also cheap? and do I have to take apart my PC to find out what RAM I have?

Yes. GPU is your graphics card.

I think the most common SSD we recommend are Samsung ones. The 850 EVO 250GB is very affordable and easy. Just keep your old drive as a second drive for all your games .

In terms of memory, you can use a tool like CPU-z to check this

That's on sale for a few days as well, solid time to scoop it up. Gigabyte is fairly solid. When it comes to GPU's I generally recommend ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte, and sometimes MSI. The different variations are often clock speeds and memory (Seemingly 3-6GB). The one you linked would be very sufficient for you.
